In Rivalta the Morena winery has a special trait: its stable overlooks the south end of the nature path of the Crostolo stream, which runs along the left bank of the river, from the historic San Pellegrino bridge to Casale di Rivalta. It is a scenic path, a daily destination for hikers and cyclists, sportsmen and families and also accessible to children, who, together with the red cows, can use it as an authentic outdoor teaching room.
And let us not forget that in Rivalta you’ll find the prestigious Ducal Palace of the Duca d’Este, called “the little Versailles” of Reggio Emilia.
On the threshold of the traditional stable, her husband Enzo remembers: “We have always had a passion for these animals, as we are farmers’ sons. We returned to the Reds as soon as we could. They have no defects. They are just a little more lively than the white or black cows”.
